Sivert Høyem is a prominent Norwegian musician and vocalist, known as the frontman of the rock band Madrugada since 1995. After the band's hiatus in 2008, Høyem has found success as a solo artist.
Høyem is recognized for his distinctive and powerful baritone voice, which adds a unique resonance to his musical expression. In 2009, he was honored with a Spellemann Prize in the category of "Male Artist of the Year."
Sivert Høyem's solo career began before the dissolution of Madrugada with the debut "Ladies & Gentlemen of the Opposition" in 2004. Following the band's conclusion, he continued to deliver remarkable albums such as "Moon Landing," "Long Slow Distance," "Endless Love," "Lioness," and most recently, "On an Island," a simple and stripped-down work recorded in the charming Zoar church in Nyksund.
