Valentourettes
Valentourettes, a Norwegian band formed in 2003, carries the legacy of the iconic Joachim "Jokke" Nielsen, who was a central figure in Norwegian rock before his untimely death.
While Nielsen was alive, he was part of two well-known bands: Jokke & Valentinerne and Jokke med Tourettes. After Nielsen's passing, the members of Valentourettes decided to honor his music by showcasing the songs he created and loved.
Valentourettes consists of musicians with backgrounds from both of Nielsen's previous bands, and it was in 2003 that they first came together to pay tribute to him with a single concert. By combining elements from both band names, the new name Valentourettes emerged. This initial concert was a success that inspired them to continue. Since then, they have traveled the country and played for an ever-growing audience.
With over 600 concerts under their belt, Valentourettes continues to carry on Jokke's legacy and breathe life into his rock heritage for new generations of listeners.
